Isha Chants offers four distinct collections of chants - Vairagya, Ye Devi, Linga Bhairavi Arati, and Triveni - each with its own unique essence.

Vairagya

Vairagya consists of five chants, each with its own distinct flavor.

  1. The Nirvana Shatakam is an exceptional composition by Adi Shankara, embodying the essence of vairagya. This chant is synonymous with the path of brahmacharya.
  2. The Guru Paduka Stotram is a devotional tribute expressing gratitude and praise to the Guru's sandals.
  3. Brahmananda Swarupa, meaning "the image of the Creator's ecstasy," is a consecrated mantra that can be chanted throughout the day to connect to Sadhguru's energy and Grace.
  4. Aum Namah Shivaya, known as the "Maha Mantra," is a powerful arrangement of sounds that forms an integral part of a Brahmachari's spiritual practice. It is also the highlight of the Mahashivratri meditations at Isha Yoga Center.
  5. Shambho, meaning "the auspicious one," is a gentle and beautiful manifestation of Shiva who readily responds to those who call upon Him.

A series of blog posts explaining the significance of these chants can be found on the Isha Blog: http://isha.sadhguru.org/blog/tag/vairagya/

Making Use of Vairagya

Here are Sadhguru's guidelines on finding which of the 5 Vairagya chants will suit you best:

Listen to each of the mantras a few times. Avoid judging them based on their musical quality or any other aspect. Simply listen to them. When you feel drawn to one of them, keep that mantra playing all the time - at home, in your car, on your phone - everywhere. Over time, it will become ingrained in your system and set a certain ambience for you.

These sounds should become as natural as your breath. Eventually, without consciously listening, you will find yourself resonating with the chant. It will have a profound impact on you. - Sadhguru

Ye Devi

These chants, carefully selected by Sadhguru and adapted by Sounds of Isha, were specifically created to be played during the consecration of Linga Bhairavi. Ethereal vocals, resonating with the intensity of the mantras, and subtle soundscapes of traditional instruments evoke a warmly serene and meditative ambiance. They create a mystical space for connecting with and resonating with the creative and nurturing aspects of the universe.

Linga Bhairavi, adjacent to the Isha Yoga Center, is the most vibrant expression of the Divine Feminine. Unique in her manifestation as a linga, Linga Bhairavi represents the ultimate form of the Mother Goddess - all-powerful and all-encompassing.

Linga Bhairavi Arati

This collection features three powerful Sanskrit mantras sung by Sadhguru for Devi:

  1. Linga Bhairavi Arati - An appeal for Devi's Grace and an offering of oneself.
  2. Linga Bhairavi Stuti - The 33 auspicious names of Devi, key to imbibing her form.
  3. Linga Bhairavi Stuti with Chorus - In this version, you can learn the Stuti by repeating after Sadhguru.
  4. Linga Bhairavi Mantra ("Lum Vum") - Devi is a manifestation of the three-and-a-half chakras in the human system, which correlate to health, well-being, stability, and prosperity.

Consecrated by Sadhguru, these devotional chants beautifully describe the manifold qualities of Devi.

Triveni

Triveni, meaning "three rivers," celebrates the three main aspects of Devi - Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati. During Navaratri, a festival dedicated to the Divine Feminine, Devi manifests in various forms. The first three days represent tamas, where the Goddess appears fierce as Durga. The next three days represent rajas and are associated with the materially-oriented Lakshmi. The final three days represent sattva and are dedicated to Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge and transcendence. Navaratri culminates on Vijayadashami, a day of victory over darkness.
